A real memory jogging piece of film. When hand-setting with the stick, always keep your thumb pressed against the character you have just placed, you can see the compositor doing this in the piece of B&W film in the sequence. Carry on the good work. Paul (ex Monotype typesetter)

I agree it is important to preserve and revive this craft. Much is being done by the National Printing Heritage Trust, amongst others, but it is a pity the Type Museum in London is in abeyance. I maintain a small Albion press myself, with plenty of type, so I’m doing my bit! It would have been good to see the Columbian press in action.
