Bilingual Typeface Design
Overview
This is a fantastic example of an Arabic and Latin influenced bilingual typeface. Designed by Tarek Atrissi for the Arab Museum of Modern Art in Qatar, this typeface was developed through a plethora of experimentation and testing, and the result is an elegant and beautiful script font.
“Without being labeled as an Arabic font with calligraphic features or a font with contemporary typographic features, the Mathaf-script typeface is above all a font reflecting a personal expression.” says Tarek. It is “an expression that is maybe typical to any piece present in a Museum of Modern Art.”
