Ryan Dixon — The Art of Code
Overview
Project Visualising Morse Code
Info As one of the earliest forms of long-distance communication, Morse Code was never intended to be visual. More so a simple system of dots and dashes, dahs and dits, memorised and communicated through on and off electrical pulses. Its visual simplicity is remarkable yet well-nigh forgotten.
This poster is the first part of a new explorative project, where each letter has been assigned a unique colour creating a visually intriguing series of bold shapes and patterns.
The poster reads: ‘If the presence of electricity can be made visible in any part of the circuit, I see no reason why intelligence may not be transmitted instantaneously by electricity’. Samuel Morse
